What dates is The Promise in performance?
The Promise will be performed every Friday and Saturday evening from September 3rd - October 30th, 2010.

Will The Promise in Glen Rose be performed any other time during the year?
No.  The Promise is perfomed at the Texas Amphitheatre by The Promise in Glen Rose from September 4th - October 31st in 2009.

How much does it cost to see a show?
Ticket prices range from $22 - $35 depending on the seating section you choose.   Please see the Buy Tickets and Merchandise page for seating sections and prices.  There is a $5 per car parking fee at the Texas Amphitheatre.  This fee is collected at the gate.

Are tickets reserved or general admission?
VIP Seating at the Texas Amphitheatre is reserved.   All other seating sections are general admission.

How do I reserve a ticket?
Tickets may be reserved by visiting our online Box office by clicking the buy tickets tab, or by calling 254-897-3926 or 1-800-687-2661.  You may also purchase tickets the evening of the performance at the ticket window.  If you reach us by phone after hours, kindly leave a message, and we will make every effort to call you back as soon as possible.  When reserving tickets via phone message, please leave your name, phone number, date for which you’d like to reserve tickets, and the number of tickets needed. Note that a reservation is not final until payment is received. Please review our ticket policies for further information.

What is the Pre-Show  Dinner?
Join us for a pre-show dinner on the grounds of the Texas Amphitheatre. Dinner is served at 6:30pm on the evening of performances.  Price includes Drink, Dinner, Dessert, Tax and Gratuity.  
Our pre-show  dinner includes:
Delicious Ground Sirloin Steak with fresh au jus, twice baked potato casserole, and a side vegetable.
Beverage Selections~Sweet Tea, Unsweet Tea, Lemonade, or Water
For Dessert~
Peach Cobbler
Cost is $15 for Adults & $10 for Children

Do I have to pay with a credit card?
No, you may come in person or even mail your payment and reservation to us if there is enough time to do so.  See our ticket policies for more information.

Do you offer refunds? What happens if it rains?
Cash refunds are not offered on tickets, meals, or merchandise purchases.  If you cannot attend a performance, or if a performance is cancelled due to rain, please call us and we will be happy to move your reservation to another performance date free of charge. 

How can I have my tickets mailed to me?
Tickets may be mailed to you for a small shipping and handling charge of $5.00 for every 25 tickets ordered.  The Promise cannot be responsible for tickets lost, misplaced or stolen once they have left the box office.  It is recommended that you do not have your tickets mailed to you for performances less than 30 days away.  Tickets will be held at the Will Call WIndow at the Texas Amphitheatre free of charge.

Can I exchange my tickets for another performance?
Tickets can be exchanged for free with advance notice of at least 48 hours, depending on availability.  Please see our ticket policies for more information.

I received an “Admit One” voucher. Is this my ticket?
No. This is only a voucher redeemable for a ticket.  You must call the box office to reserve your ticket.  Please be sure to inform the box office staff that you are redeeming a voucher when you call to reserve.  

I received or won a certificate that entitles me to tickets.  What do I do?
Call the box office at 254-897-3926 or 1-800-687-2661.  We will then reserve tickets for the desired performance(s).  Please call to reserve seats promptly before the expiration date because tickets are subject to availability and we cannot guarantee seats that have not been reserved.

What time should I arrive for a performance?
The gates at the Texas Amphitheatre will open at 7:00pm for admission and our pre-show dinner guests.  Pre-show Fajita Dinner can be ordered for an additonal cost.  Our Pre Show entertainment, which is included in your ticket price will begin at 7:15pm, and the performance of The Promise will begin promptly at 8pm.  We recommend you come at 7, find your seats, and enjoy the show!

What if I arrive late for a performance?
Latecomers will be seated at the discretion of the house manager and may have to wait for an appropriate time to be seated. As a courtesy to our other patrons, latecomers may be seated in a designated section until intermission, at which time they may take their reserved seats.  Refunds will not be offered, so please anticipate arriving ahead of time.   

How long is intermission?
Intermission is 15 minutes.

How long is the show?
The approximate run time of the show is 2 hours and 15 minutes.

Can I bring in food or drinks?
All outside food and drink, including bottled water, are not allowed.  Howerver, there is a concession stand open during the performances with bottled water, soda, candy, hot dogs, nachos, popcorn, and more!

Do you have handicapped accessible seating?
Yes, The Texas Amphitheatre offers handicapped seating in the back of section A, B, C, D, and E.  The handicapped spaces are accessible by a ramp from the main entrances and offer an excellent view of the stage.

Is my child old enough to attend a performance?
This may depend on the child. Generally children under three do not have the ability to sit through a theatrical production.  Only you can know if your child will be able to sit through the performance without disrupting you or others, so use your best judgment when bringing a child to the theatre.

May I take photographs or record a performance?
Still photos may be taken as long as flash is not used during the performance.  Video taping or audio recording of our performances is strictly prohibited. 

What is the backstage tour?
The Promise offers a backstage tour of the Texas Amphitheatre, which highlights some of the unique aspects that go into the performances.  The tours will give visitors an opportunity to see the backstage area, be up close with the sets, and costumes, receive a demonstration of the props, and perhaps have your picture taken with one of the actors or animals from the show.

When is the backstage tour and how much is it?
The backstage tour will begin immediately following the performance.  The tour will begin from the Gift Shop area and is $3.00 per visitor.

How do I apply for a production position or sign up to work behind the scenes?
Production staff are chosen by the Board of Directors for each production. Applications are accepted prior to each season. Directors, set designers, choreographers, and musical directors are required to submit proposals for the shows on which they are applying to work. Contact the office for more information.
Many volunteers are needed behind the scenes of each production and we would like your help. If you audition but are not cast, we encourage and appreciate your work backstage. Audition forms ask you to list any or all areas of interest. If you’re not a performer, we can always use help building sets, making costumes, and those willing to be on the crew backstage during the performance. Contact the office to find out how you can help for the next production.

I would like to give my time to help the The Promise. How do I get involved?
Your time is most appreciated at The Promise in Glen Rose. The possibilities are endless. You can help in the pre-production process or work during the show itself. We can put you on a mailing list to receive e-mail notices from the theatre when we do clean-up or organizational days. You can usher the night of a performance and see the show for free. There is much more you can do and we appreciate your ideas on ways you or others can pitch in. Call or e-mail the office with your interests and we will make sure that you are referred to the appropriate person.
