WARDROBE ASSISTANT MANAGER

As the Assistant Manager, you will work with our veteran designer and team to learn the overall operations and systems required for costuming 100+cast members in this Biblical period musical, now in its 32nd season. Your creativity, organizational skills, and motivation to serve will be utilized in an exciting, large scale environment with a family-oriented cast and crew who are committed to sharing the story of Jesus through drama, music, and dance.
Overall responsibility for the costume shop and dressing rooms.
Keep dressing rooms tidy and organized
Assignment of costumes to cast with assistance from current staff and director
Perform basic tailoring work
Maintenance and repair of costuming
Supervise and assign tasks to other wardrobe team members
Launder and rehang wardrobe at close (Certain garments will require daily laundering)
Basic tailoring work with sewing machines, sergers and handwork. Ability to lift 40 pounds without assistance. Can safely use ladders while handling weight. Can maneuver safely in dim light. A positive leader with a teamwork spirit. A creative problem solver. Must have successful, proven experience in live theatre environments. Educational background in theater and design, hair, wigs, and makeup, is a plus. Understands and adheres to the mission, values and code of conduct of The Promise.
This is a paid short term position, with the possibility of future seasonal work with The Promise. Hours are flexible, with the exception of rehearsals and production week.
